MATHCOUNTS is a national math coaching and competition program for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. The program is run by the MATHCOUNTS Foundation, state and local chapters of the NSPE, and many, many volunteers. Participation in the program is through your school.
The top 4 individuals from each state (including NSCs) receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the RTX MATHCOUNTS National Competition. These 224 competitors form 4-person state teams, plus compete individually for the title of National Champion.

Mathcounts, stylized as MATHCOUNTS, is a nonprofit organization that provides extracurricular mathematics programs for grades 6 through 8 in every U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Department of Defense schools.
MATHCOUNTS curriculum includes arithmetic, algebra, counting, geometry, number theory, probability, and statistics. The focus of MATHCOUNTS curriculum is in developing mathematical problem solving skills.
