This section covers key algebra concepts, including expressions, equations, operations, and methods for solving linear and quadratic equations, along with polynomials and factorization.
Algebra is the branch of mathematics in which abstract symbols, rather than numbers, are manipulated or operated with arithmetic. For example, x + y = z or b - 2 = 5 are algebraic equations, but 2 + 3 = 5 and 73 * 46 = 3,358 are not.
Here are my online notes for my Algebra course that I teach here at Lamar University, although I have to admit that it’s been years since I last taught this course. At this point in my career I mostly teach Calculus and Differential Equations.
