Both the Spectre III and Spectre Elite have manual gain control, but the Spectre Elite does have additional filtering built in to help reduce false alarms. Thus it tends to appear less sensitive than the Spectre III, and I'd expect this test to represent the worst case scenario. I do not know how many Spectre IIIs are still in use.
