A SORN car cannot legally be kept on a road, however is that true of unadopted roads if they form part of the "highway" or does it hold true for all roads? An untaxed car similarly shouldn't be on a road; but does that apply to a private road? The SORN owner denied ownership in 2021 when asked about the car by the Council.
Is it best practice to SORN the car so that I don't have to worry about MOT overdue and may possibly save some tax too? I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a couple of months before I get car back (dealership is awful). I can't take it to another garage due to the part being fixed under warranty by this particular dealership.
Hi, I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this, but before I start spending money to get my old Fiesta back roadworthy, which has been declared SORN for 7 years now, is there any way of transferring my private plate to a new car without getting the other taxed, MOT'd and insured?
But can a car be declared SORN while it is under repair at a garage? I'm asking this because I hear a lot of people that need to wait 1 to 3 months until their car is repaired (shortages of car parts and so on). So basically I don't need any insurance until the car is actually repaired. Is SORN route an option here? Kind Regards.
With VED going up in April would it be wise to SORN if one's vehicle was affected and re-tax before 1st April? Are there any Dos and DON'Ts ? thanks
