Here are the steps on how to file a first appeal under Section 19 (1) of the RTI Act: Identify the First Appellate Authority (FAA). The FAA is the officer who is responsible for hearing appeals against decisions of the Public Information Officer (PIO).
RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT, 2005. (Name & address of the Senior Officer acting as First Appellate Authority). Name : Address: Copy of RTI application. Copy of the response received from CPIO with which the appellant is aggrieved.
To write a First Appeal, mention your details, RTI reference number, reason for appeal, and relief sought. Attach copies of your original RTI application and the PIO’s reply.

Through this portal, RTI applications/first appeals can be filed by Indian Citizens for all Ministries/Departments and other Public Authorities of Central Government. RTI applications/first appeals should not be filed for other Public authorities under State Govt. through this portal.
