Cummins has not had a good engine since the introduction of DEF. The 6.7 was pretty much the same from 2007-'18, not many issues with the engine itself. The emissions system has had its ups and downs, if I remember correctly the first few years of DEF there was issues with the SCR itself and that was recalled/replaced.
