Fundamentals of Firefighter Skills We are currently using a combination of the IFSTA Essentials 4th Edition, plus some very old BC produced training videos. We need to upgrade at least the video portion, and I'm looking to retire our old overhead slides in favour of some powerpoints as well.
Anyone know a good site to buy books, ifsta books? Is Amazon the best place? Wanting to purchase a driver/operator book. The red ifsta one. I think they have 2nd edition out now. As an Instructor I give Chapter quizzes and an end of course test. Those quizzes and test are supposed to be eye openers for students to know what they need to brush up on. I am not at all opposed to practice tests if they are helpful to the individual student, but sadly what I have found is the majority that perform poorly on quizzes, tests, and then the cert tests, seldom read the book and ...
Anyways, i went through the academy Sept-Dec 08, and i enjoyed every bit of it. Although i heard they finally upgraded to the new IFSTA book which added like another 200 pages. did treasure island stop their vol program? also, I thought the "new" ifsta book didn't change anything except add first responder material.
