I always had a huge soft spot for Ibanez basses I currently own 2 SR series, and they are wonderful instruments. I always loved the BTB shape, and the ones I've tried throughout the years have been really good basses too. In terms of playing feel, I wonder how different the 2" fan is from Dingwalls 3" fan? Selling my Ibanez AS73 semi-hollow guitar (Tobacco Brown) that I enjoyed playing over the past two years. I played mainly Jazz on it but as a semi-hollow this guitar is very versatile for pretty much any style of music.
Also, unless you are an Ibanez fanboy like me, check out Schecter and Agile. Hell if you fork it over Ran can get a wicked 7 goin for ya. In the end it all comes down to what you want. I had the same problem when I went to buy my first 7, just do research into all the models of 7's, know the specs you want, compare. etc...
