Ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS or GGBFS) is obtained by quenching molten iron slag (a by-product of iron and steel-making) from a blast furnace in water or steam, to produce a glassy, granular product that is then dried and ground into a fine powder.

The ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) is a by-product of iron manufacturing which when added to concrete improves its properties such as workability, strength, and durability. This material is obtained by the heating of the iron ore, limestone, and coke at a temperature of about 1500 o C. The process is carried out in a blast furnace.

evoBuild low carbon GGBS is Ground Granulated Blast furnace Slag, commonly known as ‘GGBS’. It is a cement substitute, manufactured from a by-product of the iron-making industry.

GGBS (Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag) is a by-product of the iron-making industry and is obtained by rapidly cooling molten blast furnace slag. It’s used as a partial replacement for Portland cement in concrete to enhance its properties.
