Ordered a replacement and installed. Still no spark. Had another 170 come in a couple days ago so I tried the new CDI on it to verify it was good. Works just fine. Tried switching key switches, coil, and pulse coil from other machine. Made no difference. Also verified flywheel key is not sheared and air gap is correct. Any ideas?
The orange wire out of CDI is still constant ground. I don't know if this is being caused by A) the CDI itself or B) one of the inputs (clutch switch, neutral or ignition cutout relays?) to the CDI. Is there a way to test the CDI itself? The pulse generator and pickup coil seemed to test within spec for Ohms.
