The spectacled bear is the only species of bear in South America and one of the most emblematic mammals of the tropical Andes. Spectacled bears are robust, with a short and muscular neck, short but strong legs. As with all bears, spectacled bears walk on the soles of their feet and have longer front than rear legs, making them excellent climbers.
Discover Memphis University School (MUS), a premier college-preparatory school for boys in grades 6–12. Explore our academics, athletics, and vibrant student life.
An MUS committee then makes the final determination of the financial aid amount, and the notification is included in the acceptance package. Once a student receives financial aid, it is the policy of the school to continue this financial aid until graduation, provided there is continued need.
MUS is a Great Place to Work! At Memphis University School, we have excellent programs because of the excellence of our people – teachers, coaches, administrators, and staff who are dedicated to our mission.
Learn how to apply to MUS, discover why families choose us, and explore financial aid and campus visit opportunities.
Come to MUS for a visit and experience our beautiful 94-acre campus and top-notch facilities firsthand. We encourage you to schedule a visit by calling the Admissions Office at (901) 260-1304.
MUS is a traditional school, and our concerns for academic literacy and strong character rest on time-tested traditional values – perseverance, courage, civility, honesty, industry, self-restraint, responsibility, and generosity.
In 2020 MUS completed a new strategic plan, Legacy Forward, that focused on the possibilities for the future of MUS. The Bold Vision Bright Future campaign is part of the strategic plan’s mandate to grow the endowment and enhance the campus facilities, ensuring they reflect the school’s high standards of academic excellence.
