Ever since, Bach has been acclaimed as one of the greatest composers of classical music. The Bach family had already produced several composers when Johann Sebastian was born in Eisenach, the youngest child of the city musician Johann Ambrosius Bach.

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) was a German organist and composer whose work is today regarded as amongst the finest of mature baroque music (c. 1600-1750).

Bach absorbed the deep religious feeling of Eisenach, and would come to express it throughout his work. Despite the early death of both parents, the young Bach was well positioned for a promising career.
