On Xbox, you can add friends to your friends list, follow players to keep up with what they're doing, and put your favorite friends at the top of the list, so they're easy to find. Friends are people you interact with through play, party chat, and messages, plus you can also view their activity feed.

Jump straight into a text or party chat (one on one or in a group), join a friend’s PC game or invite them to yours, and look for people to follow. Press the Windows logo key + G to open Game Bar. Select the Widget menu, and then choose Xbox Social.

With party chat, you can join friends or other players with video or voice chat while playing a game together, watching a show, or hanging out. These communication settings can be adjusted to limit who you want to chat with—for you and other members of your Xbox family group.
You can unblock a player at any time by sending the affected player a message or a friend request.
