The iPLEDGE PROGRAM REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy) The iPLEDGE PROGRAM REMS is a safety program to manage the risk of isotretinoin’s teratogenicity and to minimize fetal exposure. The REMS is required by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure the benefits of isotretinoin outweigh its risks.
The iPLEDGE REMS allows the prescriber to delegate patient management to other prescribers enrolled with the iPLEDGE REMS (these are known as delegates) and to designate office staff to assist with data entry (these are known as designees).
I will comply with the audits by the iPLEDGE Sponsors or third party acting on behalf of the iPLEDGE Sponsors to ensure that all processes and procedures are in place and being followed for the iPLEDGE REMS.
iPLEDGE REMS updates can be accessed by selecting “Program Update” on the iPLEDGE REMS website.
