Well I wonder if this is the last hallmark ever used on military insignia by Hilborn Hamburger - a simple three digit number 362 - It is a USMC "approval number" granted to the specific maker to manufacture and sell the emblem (uniform articles as well).

Has the Vanguard NY script hallmark. This one came with the 1948 8-cleat pattern Ballou cutch backs which should indicate the first use of these Vanguard dolphins for enlisted, as the enlisted metal insignia was authorized in 1950 and the clutchback pattern changed in 1951.

This was the official hallmark of Vanguard till the current logo seen on present packaging came into being in 1983. Prior to that they used the block letter logo on Air Force wings (post WWII) and script or block on Navy wings (WWII).

Now there was a very convincing cast fake of the Antaya hallmarked silver finished Trident made in the 1980s with an additional incised hallmark of STERLING. I posted pictures of it on another thread. They must have used an original Antaya silver finished Trident as a template to produce several copies.

The Ira Green Company is located in New York and has been manufacturing Military Insignia since 1943. They are currently in business and one of a few Military Insignia businesses still in operation. The hallmarks used are 3G and G23. Shown here are the two hallmarks on Parachute wings.
