The Black House

Black House is a horror novel by American writers Stephen King and Peter Straub. Published in 2001, it is the sequel to The Talisman. This is one of King's numerous novels, such as Hearts in Atlantis and Insomnia, which tie in with the Dark Tower series. Black House was nominated for the Bram Stoker Award for Best Novel. [1]

Peter Straub (1943–2022) was the #1 New York Times bestselling author of more than a dozen novels, including A Dark Matter, The Talisman, and Black House, which he cowrote with Stephen King.

The Black House 2

The Black House 5

I give “Black House” by Stephen King and Peter Straub a 5/5 for being a magnificent sequel that continues the story of Jack Sawyer as an older, retired detective. The horror here is top-notch, with a few evil antagonists that will leave their mark on you.

The Black House 6

In Black House, Jack Sawyer, the sensitive boy-hero who journeyed to an alternate reality in search of a magical talisman to save his dying mother, has grown up.

What about the all-black Black House in the woods? Well, only Charles Burnside (Alzheimer’s) and Tinky Winky Judy Marshall (just plain crazy) know the Black House is the doorway to Abbalah, the entrance to hell—and Judy’s son Tyler is apparently the killer’s fourth victim.
