MGM had brilliant musical arrangers. Too bad these musicals were not in 4 track stereo. Singin' in the Rain in '52 is in 3 track. I believe 4 track started in '53 or '54. But obviously these prints were for the first run downtown theaters that had stereo capabilities. We're lucky that many though not all of the stereo soundtracks survived.
