I've met both Alice Roberts and Bettany Hughes and both were personally perfectly pleasant. However Hughes isn't an academic. She does not have a PhD, is neither a doctor or a professor, has never held an academic post or published any original research. Some of the things she says or writes shows she hasn't kept her knowledge up to date.
