Does holding a non-law enforcement 1801 or Investigative assistant position (such as USCIS Immigration Services Officer or FBI Investigative Specialist) provide any advantage when later applying to 1811 positions?
Will a heart defect keep me out? 03-14-2008, 01:58 AM Hello all, I'm a 21 year old male who is looking to follow in my fathers footsteps and become a law enforcement officer. A major concern of mine, however, is how my heart defect could possibly affect my chances of being hired. I was born with a hole between the two lower chambers of my heart.
I have three questions. First is what kind of background check are officers given when they're hired? The second pertains to when an officer runs a person's background does it display that individual's background checks or clearance history? My last question is if an officer does run an individuals background without reasonable cause are there repercussions? Thank you in advance. edit: Thank ...
I am hoping to become a police officer after I get my Degree in criminal Justice with my focus on policing. Anyways, they ask for any volunteer experience on the application. What can you suggest that looks good? Should I just volunteer for whatever comes up or are there things that look better than others? Thanks for your help.
The officer followed and "drove down Washington Avenue toward Main Avenue in an apparent attempt to cut off the fleeing van," said Avigliano. When the van hit the motorcycle, the force spun the van around, sending it over the curb, its back end slamming into a tree. Samra's crumpled motorcycle came to rest in the street alongside the van.
