There are some important developments this week. This week heralds the Dwapara Yuga, a period of change and upheaval within time and space in creation. Maha Shivaratri, the auspicious occasion ...

From the same source, 12000 years make a Yuga ( = Krita + Treta + DwApara + Kali). Thousand such Yuga-s duration make Brahman's day (i.e. morning, to be specific) and Thousand such Yuga-s duration makes Brahman's night. The learned say that these twelve thousand years constitute what is called a yuga.

For example, there are four ages, namely Satya-yuga, Treta-yuga, Dvapara-yuga, and Kali-yuga, which together comprise a divya-yuga, which is one set of the four yugas, also called a chatur-yuga. Let us remember that Satya-yuga lasts 1,728,000 years, Treta-yuga 1,296,000 years, Dvapara-yuga 864,000 years, and Kali-yuga 432,000 years.

The difference in height was reasoned at the time as Kakudmi and Revati actually belonged to Satya yuga or Treta Yug. So, my question is whether there is anything written in Hindu texts which explains the average height & weight of people in different yugas and also any reason why people are becoming shorter in height with each yuga.

This is based on the scriptures, which describe the duration of each of the four yugas in a descending order. Satya Yuga lasts for 1,728,000 years, Treta Yuga lasts for 1,296,000 years, Dwapara Yuga lasts for 864,000 years, and Kali Yuga lasts for 432,000 years. After the end of Kali Yuga, a new cycle of yugas begins with Satya Yuga.
